“The perfect job doesn’t exis…”
Hold the phone. Stop the presses. In fact, stop everything, because we’ve got news for you. Gin-loving bar group Mr Fogg’s have launched a new job application today, and we’re pretty sure you’re going to want to apply. They need someone with a love of both travel and gin to embark on an eighty-day world adventure, sampling tipples from across the globe. Yep, you’ll literally be paid to travel the world whilst drinking gin.
Opportunities like this are rare, so we suggest you grab it with both hands. Plus, the downside of only being employed for 80 days is far outweighed by the upsides. You’ll travel to far-flung exotic places like Mumbai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, San Francisco, and New York, following in the footsteps of adventurer Phileas Fogg. The work (if you can call it work) involves drinking gin and testing botanicals, all in search of more spirits to add to Mr Fogg’s bevy of beverages. There’s also a fair amount of #livingmybestlife, as the successful applicant will need to run a blog and post photos of their odyssey.
Those fearing a solo trek are in luck, as you’re allowed to take one supremely lucky friend along for the ride. The finish line, a whirlwind eighty days after departing, is in Charing Cross, where Mr Fogg’s new bar, the Society of Exploration, will be throwing a party to welcome the adventurers home. Your research of gins and botanicals culminates in the creation of an Around the World cocktail. It’s a lot of research for one drink, although I’m sure the winner won’t be complaining…
Hoping to apply? You’ll need to meet a list of requirements, including photography skills, social media savvy, a valid passport, and a gin loving friend willing to tag along (that should be the easiest part, TBH). You’ll also need to be over 21, and able to complete the adventure by the end of November 2018. They might also dress you up in Victorian finery, so don’t apply if you’re not a fan of bonnets. The winner will be selected by Mr Fogg’s, Bombay Sapphire, and explorer Levison Wood, who knows a thing or two about world travel.
Your application form to this dashing exciting exploration can be found here. Gin may be Mother’s Ruin, but right now, it’s your ticket to adventure!
