We may appear serious, full of complaints, and fast walking on the outside, but we Londoners are softies, really. Our hard exterior melts away at the sight of several things, not least, our favourite Peruvian bear, Paddington. Paddington Bear has pretty much stepped out of the books and blockbuster films, and straight into the capital’s heart, right? Well, now you and the family can get even closer to the story and explore some of his favourite haunts on a Paddington Bear walking tour around London.
Where will the Paddington Bear walking tour take you?
This family-friendly walking tour will not only retell Paddington’s story, but take you to some of the iconic spots in West London that appear in the books and films. You’ll wander the streets of Paddington, Maida Vale, and Notting Hill, making specific stops at Paddington Station (where the tour begins), Little Venice, and Alice’s Antiques (aka Mr Gruber’s Antiques Shop from the films), amongst others. The entire tour spans two and a half hours, and is led by a professional guide.
This Paddington Bear walking tour is an ‘all weather’ tour – and you know what that means in London. As Autumn and Winter approach, be sure to dress appropriately; perhaps a blue duffle coat and red Wellington boots?
Other housekeeping to note: there will be a short bus journey during the tour (yes, even though it is a ‘walking’ tour), so have a contactless card, Oyster card, or Zones 1–2 Travelcard at the ready for each member of your group. The tour welcomes kids of all ages, and those under age 3 can join for free.
