Once again, the capital is gearing up for its glittering makeover over the festive season with Oxford Street’s iconic Christmas lights officially returning on November 5, transforming London’s busiest shopping destination into a dreamy winter wonderland from Marble Arch to Soho.
A Glittering Festive Tradition
For over sixty years, our notoriously bustling shopping hub has been the staple place to kick off any festive outing, attracting thousands of locals and visitors each year to witness the magic of Christmas on Oxford Street.
This year, the beloved starry light display will return in an official partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH Charity), a non-profit that helps give seriously ill children the best chance, and childhood possible.
But that’s not all – 2024 brings even more holiday cheer, as the street will also host a Big Day of JOY on December 7, boasting unmissable entertainment and and an array of festive activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Expect street performers, live music, and plenty of surprises, as Oxford Street turns up the festive cheer with this one-day extravaganza. Of course, you can also expect shimmering stars and plenty of sparkle all season long, with the street’s merrily glow returning to light up London in the most beautiful way.

Although there won’t be a large-scale event for the switch-on, eager shoppers and festive fans alike are expected to show up for their first night of lights.
