We know, we know – it’s not Christmas time yet. It’s only September. But we also know that many of our readers like to plan ahead, or may not live in London and like knowing about events taking place in the near future. And as London’s markets and Christmas lights announce their returns, it is our duty to cover the news! One of our city’s favourite Christmas markets, the Old Spitalfields Christmas Market, has announced a date for its return – as well as the turning on of the Christmas lights.
The Old Spitalfields Christmas Market bringing back its usual festive cheer this November. They’re transforming the area’s wealth of shopping and dining destinations with decorations, Christmas trees, and sparkling lights galore. They’ll be turning on the Christmas lights on November 13, with a special event at 5:30 pm.
But festive-feeling Londoners can drop by from 1pm onwards to enjoy the launch of the Christmas Market and shops. Guests will be treated to live festive music, and there will be plenty of mulled wine and minced pies, as well as seasonal specials from street food vendors. Oh, and the Old Spitalfields Market will also offer free face painting and Christmas craft workshops for the little ones.
Regardless of whether you’re looking to do some early Christmas shopping, or just want a fun festive day out, the Old Spitalfields Market Christmas activation has you sorted. Even outside of their seasonal events, though, there’s plenty to explore.
Altogether the Old Spitalfields Market boasts a whopping 42 food and drink vendors, and 54 shops and stalls. You’ll need a fair bit of time if you want to check them all out!
So mark those calendars, and break out the woollen mittens – Christmas is on its way to London!
