Despite there being millions of places to see Oasis next summer, having a ticket to see them still manages to be like gold dust. So congratulations if you have one: you now know that the support acts along the way will come in the form of Richard Ashcroft and Cast.
It comes after an exclusive report from The Independent revealed on October 16 that the pair of artists would play at each gig on the reunion tour.
Oasis then officially confirmed that the first of the two acts last week. Richard Ashcroft, former frontman of The Verve, is a long-time friend of the band, and Oasis even supported his band in 1993. Ashcroft has been performing solo since The Verve last split up in 2009, and will be main support to Oasis on the dates.
And now today (October 28), Cast were officially added to the bill. Cast are another band from the Britpop era in the 1990s, and formed in Liverpool following frontman John Power’s split from The La’s. They’ve been back after their 2001 split for the last nine years, and released their album Love Is The Call in February this year. They have supported Oasis in the past at their giant 1996 show at Knebworth.
Oasis are being supported by Cage The Elephant on their US dates, and support acts have yet to be announced for their Australia dates.
