Don’t step into Christmas – dance into Christmas with English National Ballet’s version of The Nutcracker!
Every year, London holds its breath that Christmas will be a winter dreamland, where snowflakes melt into your mulled cider, and that special someone spots you looking damn fine under the mistletoe. Every year, sadly, the reality falls a little flat. Fortunately, the English National Ballet have decided that 2017 is the year to make dreamland come true! Their production of The Nutcracker is pirouetting into London Coliseum this November, aiming to transport you to the Land of Snow.
The story of Clara and her enchanted nutcracker doll is a classic that has delighted audiences for over a century. Tchaikovsky’s score has also become synonymous with Christmas, so it’s basically double the magic. Clara’s journey takes her from Edwardian London to a magical realm, where she will battle the Mouse King and meet a handsome stranger. Imagine if that happened on the Central line… She also takes a detour to the land of sweets, as if we weren’t jealous enough of her already.
Following a record-breaking run at the Coliseum in 2016, English National Ballet have brought the show back for an encore. We guarantee you aren’t going to find anything quite as enchanting on Netflix, so treat yo’ self to an evening at the ballet. You might even pick up some fresh moves for your next visit to Infernos… hey, you’ll be thanking us when those moves help you impress that special someone!
