We’re going nuts for this Nutcracker themed tea! ✨
You may already be aware that the two things we probably love most in this world are afternoon teas, and Christmas. So when someone puts them together, we can’t help but share our festive joy! From November 25th, the iconic Waldorf Hotel in Covent Garden is giving its traditional afternoon tea a Nutcracker inspired make-over, creating an edible experience like no other…
The tea is a homage to Tchaikovsky’s classical ballet and its beloved character, the Sugar Plum Fairy. Dive into her Land of the Sweets in this magical twist on the Waldorf’s signature afternoon tea, perfect for fans of the most famous festive ballet.
In fact, speaking of the ballet, we’ve got tickets for the English National Opera’s famous production of the Nutcracker right here.
The homage will, suitably, take place in the hotel’s grand dining room, The Homage Restaurant. Guests will be offered an assortment of finger sandwiches and savouries; try their smoked salmon blinis or house smoked beef on pumpernickel rye bread, paired with an array of floral spreads.
Later, enjoy freshly baked scones with clotted cream and specially created sugar plum jam, as well as vanilla choux crown cakes, decorated biscuits, and bags of lemon and raspberry bonbons, all inspired by the enchanting ballet and its faraway lands of sweets 😍.
Located in the land of the West End, just a stone’s throw away from the English National Opera, this magical afternoon tea provides the perfect pre-theatre treat! So, we’ll see you in the Land of the Sweets… 🧚♀️
