Wine and dine
INO
Dinner on Newburgh Street can only mean one thing – INO. This restaurant and gastrobar cooks delicious Greek food over charcoal wood fires, and it’s all so good. Their small plates are perfect for sharing, just make sure you order the octopus tacos while you’re there! The name INO comes from the ancient Greek word for wine [gr. ΟΙΝΟΣ], which is fitting because you can try the most incredible Greek wines here, all available by the glass. Or perhaps you’d rather sip on a selection of barrel-aged cocktails or chilled draft beers from boutique breweries? The choice is yours at 4 Newburgh Street, London W1F 7RF.
Antidote Wine Bar
If you’d like to keep your night going post-dinner, wine not stop by Antidote? This cosy wine bar has been delighting Londoners with great vino for over 15 years now, and their menu changes weekly to showcase the finest seasonal selection. All wines are organic and biodynamic from small artisans, and you can order small plates to enjoy with your drinks too. Opposite the bar you’ll find the Antidote pop-up shop where you can buy all your favourite wines, cheeses and charcuteries to take home. Find it at 12a Newburgh Street, London, W1F 7RR.
Take in the glittering Carnaby lights
Take a post-dinner stroll after your day out in The Newburgh Quarter and you can explore the iconic landmarks and street art of Carnaby. Bookending both ends of the street you’ll find the pink shimmery ‘Welcome To Carnaby London’ arches, with glittering rainbow arches in between. On the junction between Carnaby Street and Ganton Street you’ll find a giant Union Jack flag, while the West side of Ganton Street is illuminated by 51 colourful light bulbs suspended from the sky. And let’s not forget the 600 sparkling butterflies of the Carnaby Kaleidoscope fluttering down Carnaby Street, Foubert’s Place and Newburgh Street! The installation is in collaboration with the refugee charity, Choose Love, and is a breathtaking visual display of rebirth, change and hope.
