Dishoom. If you’ve ever had a glance at Secret London, it’s likely you’ve seen us raving about it. Or, you might have happened to stroll past one with a hefty queue coming out of it — both of which (in our humble opinion, anyway) should speak to the quality of the popular Indian restaurant.
Adding to an impressive set of openings at Market Halls in Canary Wharf, including Six By Nico, is the sixth Dishoom location in London. They’ll start crafting up their beloved flavours of Bombay Irani cafés in their second east London site later this year.
You’ll find the new Dishoom close to the Hawksmoor floating venue on Water Street from November 30, and it’ll seat a whopping 355 diners in a 8,800 square foot restaurant, which will also include a terrace looking out over the river.
Dishoom has also seen success in Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham, and the new opening will mark the cult favourites’ ninth restaurant in the UK.
Having tried Dishoom our thoughts on the prospect of a new restaurant is simply this: keep ’em coming. Another spot to munch down on those beautiful paneer rolls and Murgh Maiai grills, plus a way to handle the demand (as shown by the queues) can only be a good thing. Plus, being able to gaze out over the Thames as you tuck in is sure to be just the tonic.
Dishoom’s sixth site is due to open in Canary Wharf on November 30. Check out Dishoom’s website here.
