The National Theatre’s new quiz has more acting talent than most Hollywood films…
Sure, you’ve done virtual quizzes aplenty by this stage, but how many have you done with a celebrity quizmaster? Ok, how about seven celebrity quizmasters? This, dear readers, is what’s on offer at the National Theatre’s next virtual quiz, which arrives on Monday May 25, with an incredible lineup of hosts.
Imelda Staunton, Jim Carter, Meera Syal, Simon Callow, Tamsin Greig, Lucian Msamati, and Jessie Buckley will be your hosts for the quiz. Quite apart from boasting appearances in Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Downton Abbey, the septet are renowned for their work on the London stage, which, apart from guaranteeing zero stage fright, will make this quiz one to remember.
They’ll be delivering questions on literature, science and nature, and the National Theatre (unsurprisingly). The quiz follows the success of April’s quiz, which saw another quartet of stars – Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Lenny Henry, Lesley Manville, and Sir Ian McKellen – turn out for hosting duties.
You’ll be able to play along on the National Theatre’s Facebook and YouTube pages, and I’d like to think that the prospect of acting royalty should be enough to deter you from cheating! Oh, and if you miss this week’s, don’t worry: the National Theatre are planning to run the quizzes on the final Monday of each month, so there should be an opportunity to join again in June.
