My first experience catching a MUNA live show was a shot of euphoria when, like many in the crowd that day, I was in Gunnersbury Park awaiting the first Boygenius London show.
MUNA’s support slot, however, particularly their home run rendition of Silk Chiffon in the perfectly timed August sun (with Phoebe Bridgers coming out to join MUNA for a joyous set finale), sticks just as hard in the memory as the headline act.
So, the news today of the band’s tour announcement will be of interest to me, most in that crowd that day, and all their other fans scattered around the UK & Ireland. MUNA will play their ‘GETS SO HOT’ tour across the world later this year, with their biggest London show yet lined up for the Hammersmith Apollo on Tuesday, November 17.
Their UK & Ireland run kicks off with a show in Dublin and, on top of the London gig, also features shows in Glasgow, Manchester, and Bristol. After this, they’ll play further shows across mainland Europe.
Expect a party at the end of the year at all of these shows, and also be prepared to hear plenty from their new record, Dancing On The Wall, which dropped today (May 8). It’s MUNA’s fourth studio album, and their second via Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory Records, following 2022’s self-titled record.
It’s not their only show in London this year, either, with three more intimate shows at Heaven coming later this month to celebrate the release of their new album.
