Mummy Pig Has Officially Given Birth To The Newest Member Of Peppa Pig’s Family – And The Baby’s Name Has Been Revealed

The nation is squealing with excitement as the newest member of Peppa Pig's family has officially arrived.

The chimneys at Battersea Power Station in London are lit up pink as 'Mummy Pig' and 'Daddy Pig' from television series Peppa Pig, announce that they are expecting a girl.

Mummy Pig notified the nation of her pregnancy back in February, when she made a rather surprising appearance on Good Morning Britain. Then, the most outrageously elaborate but undeniably iconic gender reveal of all time took place at Battersea Power Station in April; revealing to the world that the newest member of Peppa Pig’s family was going to be a little girl. And now, the wait is over, folks. There’s a new pig on the block, and we’re all squealing with joy.

Today (May 20), Good Morning Britain announced that Peppa Pig’s baby sister had been born. The newest and cutest member of the family has been named Evie (in honour of Mummy Pig’s aunt) – and she marks the first new addition to one of country’s favourite families in 20 years. And doesn’t that just make you feel ancient?

GMB announced that Mummy Pig welcomed baby Evie into the world at 5.34am inside the oh-so exclusive Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. The very same maternity ward in which Kate Middleton gave birth to George, Charlotte, and Louis. Only the best for Mummy Pig, hey?

When will Evie make her first appearance on the show?

As I’m sure you can imagine, the show is going all out for the introduction of the new baby. A brand new cinema experience, Peppa Meets the Baby, will debut in over 2,600 cinemas across 19 countries on May 30. The hour-long bonanza will include ten new song-filled episodes, following Peppa and George as they prepare for the arrival of their baby sister. As the family enter into their new era, the show promises to highlight the ups and downs of introducing a new sibling to the family.

Peppa and George are said to be “over the moon” about the arrival of their baby sister, and it’s been reported that the family are looking forward to ‘lots of happy snorts and sleepless nights’. I guess congratulations are well-and-truly in order.
