Step aside, humans—there are some new sheriffs in town.
With the world in lockdown last spring, some creatures have decided to reclaim their land. In a brilliant example, mountain goats pranced into the empty streets of Llandudno, Wales to rule the roost. And, to be honest, didn’t they just look majestic in the process? [Featured Image: @VampireGhuleh, Twitter]
In the town near me (Llandudno) the mountain goats have moved further down out of hills and have started wandering around the town more to graze !! pic.twitter.com/m4dlp9Tydn

With no clunky cars or pesky humans to stand in their way, we truly allowed the goats to reach their full potential. That, my friends, is a beautiful thing. The goats were finally allowed to explore the town, casually nestling in a bush, partaking in a big game of ‘it’, or just sensibly avoiding the humans filming so they could continue their rampageous ways.

They clearly didn’t get the social distancing memo, did they? But you can’t really blame them. Anyway, here in lockdown round three, it appears the goats are back for more, as they’ve recently been spotted clambering over houses (well, they are mountain goats after all) and even roaming through the halls of a deserted hotel. In a year of bad tidings, this is one gift that just keeps on giving.

Whether they’ll tire of big city life is yet to be found out. Perhaps the mountain goats will decide that they lived a much more simple, peaceful life up on Llandudno’s neighbouring hills. For now however, it’s lovely to see them having this much fun. We could all use some of that energy right now.
Meanwhile, please enjoy this brilliant Twitter thread about the goat overlords.
I think I just got a group of goats in Llandudno arrested.
Let me explain… first, I saw this from inside a dark pub (the one I live in currently). I thought I was seeing things. So I took some video: pic.twitter.com/RtxYG6htLC
