When the weather warms up in London, we all naturally crave the outdoors. In an attempt to make the most of the (usually) fleeting sunshine, we flock to parks, pub gardens, and al fresco dining spots. But the iykyk venues that many of us head to are London’s assortment of rooftop bars. And a hot new addition is set to join London’s rooftops, as Miradora, the city’s first dedicated rooftop tequileria, opens this week.
Nestled away in the middle of the West End, Miradora is transforming the 10th floor of the Assembly Hotel into an agave-centric paradise. Thanks to sweeping views of the city, it’s set to be the go-to spot for sunset-sipping with stunning vistas. The hot new rooftop is opening this Friday (June 20), just in time for the heat wave!
Drinks at Miradora
Naturally, since it’s the city’s first rooftop agaveria, they’ve gone big with the drinks menu. Guests can choose from a curated list of over 100 tequilas, ranging from “crisp blancos and complex añejos to small-batch mezcals and flavoured infusions”.
The cocktails run the gamut from refreshing sips to tequila-y takes on classic drinks. We’re particularly excited to try the spicy and tropical Pineapple Serrano, with Rooster Rojo Pineapple Tequila, strawberry, lime, agave and fresh pineapple. But we’re also intrigued by the smoky Mezcal Mist, with Koch Mezcal with Luxardo Amaretto, lime and ginger beer. Oh, and then there’s the Mexican take on the Espresso Martini, which is kicked up a notch with the inclusion of Cazcabel Coffee Tequila.
Basically, you’ll want to bring some friends, order widely, and sample each other’s drinks so you can try the whole menu…
Mexican bites
You’ll need some food to go with all those drinks, and Miradora has you sorted with a selection of “modern Mexican plates designed to gather, share, and crave”. Our picks from the menu? Go for the fiery Carna Asada, which comes served with a punchy salsa and fresh guacamole, or keep it bright and fresh with the Ceviche Tostada. And to finish off the meal, opt for even more agave in the form of the Tequila & Citrus Sorbet. The refreshing dessert comes topped with tajin and cracked pepper as well as another shot of tequila on the side. Bottoms up!
There’s something for guests to look forward to every day of the week at Miradora – from Taco Tuesday to Happy Hour deals (Agave Classics are 2-for-£15 from 3-6pm). They’re also promising to bring plenty of Mexican celebration to London as they commemorate the likes of Día de los Muertos and Cinco de Mayo, to “keep the fiesta going all year round”.
So head to the skies, and enjoy a taste of Mexico – right in the heart of London.
Miradora will open on Friday, June 20, 2025. Find it on the 10th floor of Assembly Hotel, Charing Cross Road, WC2H 0LS. The nearest station is Leicester Square.
