By the time it hits November, London tends to be in cold and drizzly mode. As such, a relaxing bar in the south of France is not somewhere you’d typically expect to find yourself when leaving your house in the big smoke during in these months — no matter how much you’d love it. However, an all-new immersive bar has arrived in the capital, which aims to emulate the Mediterranean from Shaftesbury Avenue: Figaro’s.
Inspired by a bar in the fishing port of Cassis, Marseille, guests will be swept away by the decoration, – which takes the outside indoors – enveloping them with the feel of a clifftop looking out onto the Mediterranean Sea. Not every day you can do that in the West End, is it?
You’ll find Figaro’s tucked away on the 1st floor of the old Trocadero, boasting mesmerising scenery that includes rustic shutters, foliage and even hanging wisteria to complete the all-day summer atmosphere.
As you’d expect, the food & drink takes the Mediterranean feel and runs with it. Think tasty bar snacks like duck rillette with toast and onion marmalade and portobello mushrooms that compliment your tipple. Talking of which, the drinks menu is pretty damn unbeatable. Sip on their selected wines, including Post Malone-owned rosé Maison No9; a Madri beer on tap; or one of their many sun-kissed cocktails. You’ll almost forget you’re in London…
You’ll find Figaro’s at 22 – 32 Shaftesbury Avenue, W1D 7EU (the nearest station is Leicester Square). Find more info and book your visit on their website.
