2021 is all about the Al Fresco experience!
Only six more days. Six days until we can dine outside once more, as the lockdown restrictions partially ease on April 12. And with that, we’ll enjoy the great outdoors to its full, in places across the capital both old and new.
To adapt to the demand for outdoor hospitality, even more spaces have pledged to make room for a summer of al fresco dining. We’ve told you about the likes of Chelsea and Covent Garden, and now Mayfair and Belgravia have decided to join the party.

More than 800 seats will become available in the area from the day outdoor dining recommences, after one of London’s biggest landlords promised to deliver the space for Al Fresco.
North Audley Street in Mayfair is set to be transformed into an “outdoor dining room”. Plus, 150 seats will also be laid on at Motcomb Street in Belgravia, as well as a further 150 seats being laid out in Grosvenor Square for people to enjoy takeaways in the sun.
From Monday, pubs and restaurants can begin serving food and drink to customers that sit outdoors. New spaces being created for sites without gardens can only be wonderful thing for the hospitality industry.
Piers Townley, Interim London Estate Director of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, said: “We’ve stood by our tenants every step of the way in the past year. For re-opening we wanted to welcome Spring and bring back the buzz that we’ve all been missing so much.
“So we’ve invested in new experiences for visitors and with over 800 outdoor dining spaces across Mayfair and Belgravia – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
“We will continue to demonstrate our support for the retailers and restaurateurs that make Mayfair and Belgravia special and look forward to announcing new initiatives soon.”
Now, back to twiddling our thumbs until Monday finally arrives…
