Speak to any Londoner about classic cocktails, and they’ll ram the argument for which is ‘the best’ down your throat. Negronis this, mojitos that… sure, they might be perfectly acceptable answers, but can either of them claim to have a whole mile of bars dedicated to drinking them on a crawl for a whole week?
That’s where the tequila-based favourite, salted-rim or unsalted, has the edge because a Margarita Mile comprised of 11 bars has arrived in London from February 17-23. Having successfully launched in Manchester in 2023, the mile came to London and Leeds for the first time last year and is back in all three cities for its 2025 edition to handily coincide with National Margarita Day (February 22) this Saturday.
Which bars are involved in the Margarita Mile in London?
From Corrochio’s Cantina in Stoke Newington right over to Home bar in Old Street, Londoners can make their way along the thoroughfares of Dalston all the way to Shoreditch on a walking tour with Margarita pit stops along the way.
Of course, every bar along the way will be showing off their very best Margarita cocktails, but there are even more ways to get in the (agave) spirit along the way. These are the full list of bars on the Margarita Mile:
1. Corrochio’s Cantina – 76 Stoke Newington Road, N16 7XB
2. Corrochio’s – 70-74 Stoke Newington Road, N16 7XB
3. The Marquee Moon – 48 Stoke Newington Road, N16 7X7
4. Silk Stockings – 80 Dalston Lane, E8 3AH
5. Mildred’s Dalston – 1 Thomas Tower, Dalston Square, E8 3GU
6. Hacha, 378 Kingsland Road, E8 4AA
7. Odyssey, 1 Hoxton Square, N1 6NU
8. Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes, 34-36 Kingsland Road, E2 8DA
9. Calloh Callay, 65 Rivington Street, EC2A 3AY
10. Cocktail Trading Co., 68 Bethnal Green Road, E1 6GQ
11. Home, 5a Ravey Street, EC2A 4QW
What’s happening along the Margarita Mile?
On Wednesday (February 19), you can also head along a mini Margarita crawl with the Gin Journey crew, where you’ll be able to sample three different tipples in three different bars, with a taco stop-off at Corrochio’s along the way. You can find out more details and book your spot here.
Margarita Mile celebrations come to an end with a closing party at Silk Stockings on the Sunday, which will put a cherry on a week of all things agave cocktails. A lively Sunday session will be taking place with host Phoebe Wyburd to guide you on a tasting journey of the best El Tequileño tequilas to end your week and the mile in true boozy style.
A Margarita Mile giveaway
To top off the week, anyone who shares a picture on Instagram with @el_tequileno and @tenlocksdrinks in a photo of their Margaritas along the mile will also be eligible to win a goodie bag of tequila-themed treats. Tasty cocktails along a buzzing London crawl finished off with free alcohol? I’d run a enjoy a few drinks along a mile for that.
Who is behind creating a mile-long route of fine London establishments for you to sip on Margaritas? That would be the folks at El Tequileño, the Mexican tequila brand that hails from Tequila (the place) itself. Maldon Salt, everyone’s favourite fancy seasoning, are also involved which, given their reputation for appearing on the rims of your favourite Margaritas, makes total sense.
Speaking about the mile, Steffan Oghene, Global Ambassador for El Tequileño, said: “El Tequileño encourages everyone, from cocktail fans to tequila lovers to those who want to learn more about quality craft spirits, to get out on the mile to try a Margarita. We are super proud to be hosting the Margarita Mile to 3 key UK cities in 2025, including Leeds. I encourage consumers to get out there and speak to their bartenders about tequila as they are so knowledgeable and would love to share their passion for tequila with you!”
Last one to reach the end of the mile is a rotten *insert inferior cocktail name here*.
You don’t need any tickets to enjoy the Margarita Mile between February 17-23. Just pick your bars, drop by, and head on in to order your tequila-based tipples. El Tequileño also reminds everyone to please drink responsibly!
