This week, as International Women’s Day (March 8) draws nearer, a lovely, heart-warming new art installation is set to land in London. A free public ‘love letter’ installation will crop up in a popular London market over the weekend. The art piece will honour the women who have shaped us and played important roles in our lives. And you can add your own message of love and appreciation.
The love letter installation will drop down in Borough Yards from March 5-8. That’s only four days to check it out, or add your own touch, so be sure you don’t miss out
The ‘love letter’ installation
The free public art piece, entitled ‘The Women That Made Us’, takes the form of a large mirrored wall. Londoners are invited to add to it with “a message to a woman who shaped their life, whether that’s a mum, sister, best friend, mentor or chosen family member”. As the messages add up and the wall becomes covered with love letters, the installation will evolve into a “growing mural of tributes in the heart of London Bridge.”
Additionally, the mirrored surface forces viewers to reflect on themselves and their own relationships. This reflects the International Women’s Day theme for 2026, with a focus on reciprocity and support.
Regardless of whether you’re simply passing by, stopping to read the messages, or adding your own touch, everyone is part of the art – even if just for a fleeting moment.

Said Rebeca Guzmán Vidal, Co-Founder of Curate Real Estate, managers of Borough Yards:
“Borough Yards is a place shaped by creativity and community, and The Women That Made Us reflects this approach. It offers visitors a moment to recognise the women who have influenced them, while highlighting Borough Yards’ commitment to staying responsive to the people who use and experience our space.”
Psst… If you need an excuse to rush down when it’s first unveiled, the first 50 people to write on the installation can grab free treats from After School Cookie Club and Santa Nata.
