Eid celebrations are returning to Trafalgar Square on Saturday May 30 2026, with a free day of music, food and family activities in the heart of London.
Eid on the Square celebrates London’s diverse Muslim communities, with participation from people across the city and beyond, including Turkish, Middle Eastern, Palestinian, Malaysian, Indonesian, North African and South Asian communities, as well as non-Muslims.
London’s biggest Eid celebration is happening this weekend
Eid al-Adha is one of the two major Eids and marks the end of Hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca. This year’s celebration falls at the end of the festival period, with Eid al-Adha taking place between May 26 and 30.
What to expect at Eid on the Square 2026
Eid on the Square 2026 features a full programme across the day, including performances from the London Arab Orchestra, London Turkish Association Dance Group and Khan Brothers Qawwali Group. There will also be Q&As, calls to prayer and other live activity on the main stage.
A Family Zone will offer lantern and headdress making, plus calligraphy and stencil workshops. Visitors can also watch live demonstrations from Muslim Girls Fence and pick up some basic fencing skills.
The event will include stalls from names such as Ambala and the Desi Doll Company, along with face painting for children. Food options will range from Afghan Grill and Korean Fried Chicken to Halal German Hot Dogs and Fries, with plenty more on offer throughout the square.
That mix of entertainment, shopping and food has made Eid on the Square one of the capital’s most distinctive annual cultural events. It is designed to be welcoming, family-friendly and open to people of all faiths and none.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan says Eid on the Square offers a chance for Londoners and visitors to “unite and celebrate the huge contribution Muslim Londoners make to our city.” He added that the event reflects the idea that London’s diversity is its greatest strength.
Held at Trafalgar Square from 12pm to 6pm, the event is free to attend.
