Offering multiple courses and unique experiences to go with it, supper clubs are the ultimate way to dine with a difference in London. And the rise in popularity means that there’s plenty of nights of all-inclusive feasting and entertainment to choose from. Here are some of our favourite, wacky-themed and extremely cool supper clubs running at the moment.
1. Gingerline
Gingerline are back with their ‘Classic’ supper club, which launches on 12th April. Half the fun with this supper club is actually getting to the feast. Diners buy tickets without knowing a single detail about what the night entails and then, an hour before the event, the secret location is revealed. Be prepared for a night of theatrical entertainment and culinary delights, which combines an interactive set and art installation combine with five courses of gastronomic story-telling. Tickets are available from the 8th March and can be bought here.
2. Yoga Supperclub
If you are looking for the perfect way to find your zen, we suggest you try it while listening to great music, eating delicious food and sipping on Prosecco. Thankfully, the Yoga Supper Club are here to provide us with just that. They have two events running this month. The first is on 10th March at God’s Own Junkyard in Walthamstow (for which there are only a few tickets left!) and the second is on the 20th March at Well Garden in Hackney. Both evenings are sure to leave your body and soul feeling beautifully nourished. Download Fever to buy your tickets.
3. Basement Galley’s Underground Dining
Inside an old tube carriage, Basement Galley are cooking up a hybrid of classic French brasserie and Skandinavian flavours by Chef Alex Cooper. Alex initially started out this venture with his flatmate, Tom Fothergill – they used to serve up dinners to people in their own Brixton flat. Now they’ve taken things underground… to a 1969 London Underground carriage in Walthamstow, to be precise. All diners receive a cocktail on arrival, before indulging in the food. The basic price is £45, but spaces book up well in advance. Check for availability here.
4. Smoke and Salt
This supper club in Islington puts taste at the forefront of everything they do, with the intention of bringing it’s diners modern food cooked through ‘ancient techniques’. Run by a British and an American chef, the changing menus gain inspiration from international flavours and techniques such as brining, curing, fermenting, smoking and pickling. Your tastebuds shoukd expect big things. Find out more about their events here.
5. Unwined
A Grape Night In – a wine company for a ‘new generation of wine lovers’ (aka, everyone) have pitched up in a permanent establishment in Tooting Market. Unwined is a wine shop, bar and kitchen all rolled into one. Dream?! They host a range of supper clubs throughout the year (check out their event listings here), including month-long chef residencies. This month, until the 28th March, Vinn Goute is serving up a taste of the Seychelles. Let the fresh fish and plantain take you as close as you can get to the Indian Ocean…. Ahhhh.
