Whilst we’re still a couple of months away from the official start of summer, it seems as though the weather in London has kindly decided to give us a sneak preview this week. Tomorrow (Wednesday, March 18) is set to be the capital city’s warmest day of the year so far as the temperatures are forecasted to soar to the dizzying heights of 17°C. Can you actually believe it?
According to BBC weather, London will be basking in 17 degree sunshine whilst at the very same time, Tenerife (the largest and most populous of the Canary Islands) will only be experiencing highs of 16°C. And yes, I’m well aware that there is very little difference in it. But when you’ve spent a long, cold winter, clinging onto your hot water bottle as if your life depends on it, each and every last degree counts, okay?

Admittedly, 17°C might not warrant us digging out our flip-flops and factor 50 just yet, it does remind us that those sweet summer days are well on their way. But if you – like me – have forgotten how to spend a sunny day in the city, please allow us to point you in the right direction. From picnic spots and rooftop bars to walking routes and beer gardens; we’ve got you covered.
If you need me from this point forward, you’ll most likely find me stocking up on tinnies and picky bits or in a park tucking into them (whilst captioning every one of my Instagram posts ‘Costa Del Clapham’, of course). Happy t-shirt weather, Londoners – we actually made it.
