London is set for a blast of hot and sunny weather next week.
We haven’t been too unlucky with the weather so far in 2018, enjoying both some fun late snow before a record-breakingly warm April and the hottest early May bank holiday on record. [Photo: Luke Miller]

After a few cooler weeks, it looks like we’re once again getting another grilling, with the highest temperatures of the year so far expected. And may I say, BRING IT ON?
The Weather Channel is leading the way with its iPhone forecast, currently projecting a week of uninterrupted sunshine and temperatures up to 31℃ on Thursday. when England will be playing Belgium in the World Cup, making it the perfect evening to hit up an outdoor World Cup screening!
AccuWeather ain’t far behind, reckoning the mercury will reach 28℃ on Thursday:
The Met Office, perhaps wisely, refuse to be drawn on particular temperatures more than five days in the future. Instead, their UK-wide long-range forecast predicts only ‘fine weather’, adding that ‘temperatures will continue to rise for all parts [of the UK], but especially so in the south where it could turn hot.’
All three forecasters anticipate a slight cooling over the following weekend, with some potential thunderstorms, but temperatures should stay in the high twenties nonetheless, persisting well into early July.
Outdoor swimming? Picnic in a park? Pub garden good times? Get planning now. All these forecasts couldn’t be wrong… could they?
