Is it breakfast? Is it lunch? Is it primarily just an excuse to drink alcohol before midday? Who knows. What we do know for certain, however, is that we Londoners are barmy for brunch. And never has the fact been more evident than now, as our beloved capital city has just been named the brunch capital of the UK. Are we surprised? Absolutely not.
London’s shiny new accolade comes courtesy of the lovely lot over at Accor. The hospitality-experts did some research and crunched the numbers like a delicious slice of sourdough to uncover the best brunch spots in the country. And – as I may have already mentioned – London was crowned the very best of the bunch brunch.
Accor analysed brunch spots from across 50 major UK cities, using a three-part scoring system. Based on venue quality, search interest, and customer sentiment, each city was given a ‘brunch city index’ score. The top ten brunch venues within each city were also then ranked based on Google ratings and reviews. London on the whole was crowned the best city for brunch, scoring a rather impressive 9.28 out of 10. But that wasn’t London’s only feat. It turns out that London also boasts the very best brunch spot of all, Scarlett Green.
Nestled in the heart of Soho, Scarlett Green is part of the much-loved family of Aussie cafés, the Daisy Green collection, and serves up a cracking 90-minute bottomless brunch for just £49.90. Scarlett Green earnt itself a brunch score of 9.52 out of 10, boasting a 4.8-star rating from over 7600 reviews. Sounds pretty egg-cellent to me.
