The Christmas fair in Leicester Square is returning for 2018.

The throbbing quadrilateral at the heart of London’s tourist district is getting a festive new look, starting November 9.

In the square itself, you’ll find Christmas market stalls aplenty, each selling seasonal treats, sumptuous food and delicious drinks. In other words, gallons of glühwein and bundles of bratwurst… Sounds perfectly jolly to us!

But, my little elves, that is not all! For, alongside this fairy-lit rhombus of Crimbo commerce, you’ll find a Spiegeltent, playing host to a bunch of performances curated by the same Underbelly team who bring an array of performers to the Southbank each summer. The all-male boylesque group, Briefs Factory, will be there and ready to grab Christmas by the baubles, while House of Burlesque will put on one hell of a show at the Burlesque Carol Concert.

Children can visit Santa in his glittering grotto and hear a festive fairytale, dance at a baby disco, or catch the Brat Kids Carnival, which is filled with all kinds of magic and mischief. Watch incredible circus acts or get on stage for a boogie – it’s the perfect recipe for a silly afternoon.

Location: Leicester Square, WC2H 7NA. Nearest stations are Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. Find it on Google maps.
Opening hours: November 9 until January 6, 2019. Monday to Friday, 12pm–10pm. Saturday and Sunday, 10am–10pm. Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Entry: FREE. (Tickets for any shows or events will come at an extra cost, of course. See what’s on and buy tickets here.)
More information: from the Christmas in Leicester Square website.
