London certainly isn’t lacking in the fancy-spots-to-have-a-snooze department. With an abundance of elegant establishments dotted across the city; if you’re looking for a swanky bed to lay your weary head; the capital has got you covered like a deliciously fluffy duvet.
But with the cost of some of them resembling that of a small mortgage, it’s tricky to know which luxurious locales really are worth the rather gasp-inducing price-tag that comes attached to them. But luckily for us, we’ve got the lovely lot over at La Liste to do the deciphering for us.
A big name in the world of global gastronomic guides, La Liste has been compiling an annual catalogue of the world’s 1000 best restaurants for the past 10 years. But more recently they’ve decided to turn their hand to hotel ranking, and have recently revealed what they believe to be the world’s very best hotels for 2025.
La Liste’s hotel rankings come courtesy of a very fancy algorithm that scours hundreds of guidebooks, trusted media outlets, and guest reviews to ensure the results are impartial, objective, methodical, and transparent. Global data was analysed to give each establishment a score out of 100, and ten hotels from across the globe earnt the incredibly impressive score of 99.5, making them the best in whole world. And – you guessed it, folks – two of those chart-topping spots are right here in London.
The Connaught
Located over in Mayfair, opulently occupying the corner of Mount Street and Carlos Place; The Connaught has been levelling up London’s luxury hotel scene since swinging open its doors many years ago. Offering London’s a taste of timeless elegance the moment they’re welcomed by the charming doorman, The Connaught seamlessly blends British heritage and fascinating history with bold innovation and contemporary touches. Home to a total of 121 rooms and suites, as well as three bars, three restaurants (one of which is the proud owner of three shiny Michelin stars, of course), and a gorgeous spa; its unsurprising that The Connaught has managed to earn itself a very comfortable spot atop La Liste’s list.
📍 You’ll find The Connaught at Carlos Place, W1K 2AL.
💰 A stay at The Connaught will set you back between £800 and £3000 a night.
The Savoy
The other lavish London hotel to have topped the list is none other than the capital’s very first purpose-built luxury hotel, The Savoy. Having been perched proudly on the Strand since 1889, The Savoy certainly knows a thing or two about showing its guests a good time. The first hotel in London to built with sole purpose of being luxurious, The Savoy has long enticed the world’s most classy clientele. And with over 135 years of stories to tell, it’s jam-packed with history, charm and – quite literally – everything you’d ever want or need for a outrageously fancy night’s sleep in the capital.
📍 You’ll find The Savoy on The Strand, WC2R 0EZ.
💰 A stay at The Savoy will set you back between £750 and £2200 a night.
