Kimchi is one of those sweet spot foods that give its tasters the one-two dining uppercut of a health kick while being a delicious, moreish creation. A creation that, as such, clearly deserves its very own festival, which it has… right here in London.
A day that’s dedicated to a festival of kimchi is coming to back to London for its third year, landing over at the Fleet Street Quarter next week on Saturday, November 23.
What can we expect from the Kimchi festival?
Aside from bucketloads of the good stuff, the Kimchi festival promises a full day of culinary brilliance in St Bride Foundation at the Fleet Street Quarter. Taking place between 11:30am – 5:30pm, you’ll be rubbing shoulders and eating plates from 18 of the world’s top kimchi makers, with the roster including world-renowned chefs providing expertise and displaying the passion they have for the dish. They’ll be on hand for the kimchi-making classes to show you how to create the right flavour for yourself (and take home the kimchi made by your own hands!).
Aside from the food, the day will be a celebration of Korean culture, with entertainment coming in spades through traditional dance and K-pop performances. Once you’ve had a feed and a boogie, you can also pop along to talks from the chefs and cultural ambassadors before heading outside to explore the craft and food sales in the courtyard.
A standard ticket to the event will cost £10 and gain access to talks and tasting of kimchi from the 18 chefs, with the £30 VIP tickets also granting access to the exclusive celebrity talks and kimchi-making masterclasses.
The third Kimchi festival takes place on Saturday, November 23 in St Bride Foundation at the Fleet Street Quarter between 11:30am and 5:30pm.
