Boasting a rather obscene number of giant buildings and skyscrapers, it should come as no surprise that London is home to some imposing vantage points. But did you know one particular spot also boasts the title of being the highest free viewing platform in all of Europe?!
Standing tall over the city, you’ll find the impressive Horizon 22 viewing point way up on the 58th floor of 22 Bishopsgate. And sure, 22 Bishopsgate may only be the second-highest building in the city after the Shard, but it boasts some jaw-dropping panoramic vistas.
And since it’s free and all, the new spot has become a popular go-to destination for stargazers and keen Instagrammers alike. Since September of last year, it’s been busily beaming visitors up in its high-speed lift (41 seconds up to the top, to be precise) to impress them with the views.
From Horizon 22 you can look right out across the city. And – this bears repeating – it costs NOTHING to visit! It’s one of the more cost-effective ways to dramatically plan our protection of the city as we gaze out over it. All you’ll need to spend money on is that suit and batmobile…
How do I visit Horizon 22?
Well… all you need to do is book a free ticket. No, really, that’s it. Just head to the Horizon 22 website, and then head on up to the stars! Well… almost the stars.
The views from here rival even the likes of the Sky Garden, which is known to be full to the brim with free bookings. However, even though it’s been open for well over a year, none of that ‘newness novelty’ has worn off – it’s still very popular, so you’ll want to plan ahead when booking your ticket.
Views from 58 levels up at Horizon 22 are available seven days a week, all year round (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve), and a small number of walk-in spots are also made available each day. So if you’re in the area and ask nicely you might get lucky!
