Ditch the neighbours and spend a weekend playing lord (or lady) of the manor at one of these epic party rentals.
When it comes to hosting big parties, a one-bed flat in Peckham doesn’t quite cut the mustard, so we’ve put together a list of houses that can be exclusively yours for one weekend only. Prepare to celebrate in style with a bit of good, old-fashioned revelry…
Naturally, during this period, you’ll need to be aware that you are only permitted to travel within your “support bubble” and social distancing laws always apply. But hey, it’s worth planning larger scale trips for later in the year. We all hope that we’ll be able to celebrate events like New Years Eve in style again. Time to keep our fingers and toes crossed.
1. The Walled Garden
Here’s a stunner in the charming Suffolk countryside. A 2-hour drive from central London and you could spend a weekend in The Walled Garden, sipping champagne in the private hot tub. Or, there’s always the tennis court and the heated pool if (unlike us) you’re looking for something a bit more active. It’s the perfect venue. Just try not to spill any red wine on the pristine white sofas!

2. Sibton Park
Ok, this place is off the charts unreal. It’s hugemungous enough to sleep 24 people, and just look at the games room! Along with their home cinema and games room the 4,500 acre Sibton Park estate also boasts a swimming pool, hot tub and tennis court. Naturally.

3. The Court House
Another property with the potential to house a very big weekend, The Court House in Gloucestershire sleeps up to 22 people. Perfect for fun-lovers with its games room, bar, heated swimming pool, fire pit, hot tub, and library… Ok, maybe a library isn’t really a key ingredient to a big weekend, but it’s a novel inclusion all the same.
Challenge your companions to some competitive pool and celebrate (or commiserate) with a drink in the games room bar.

4) White Manor
This Warwickshire mansion is a humungous build fit with a swimming pool, tennis court, BBQ, fireplace, snooker table, hot tub and much more. There are 28 spots and potential for the ultimate staycation, just outside of Birmingham. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this house will only take bookings from September.

5. Roaches Hall
On a good day, you’ll get here in about 2-hours-45-minutes from London, so it just makes the grade. This spectacular hall is a staycationer’s dream. Nestled in the Peak District, you’ll have beautiful surroundings to match your stunning accommodation. Equipped with a games room and OHM sound system, drawing and dining rooms to marvel at. Through the crisis, the spot will only allow two households to holiday together in their “support bubble” and will not be accepting bookings from under-25s.

6. Hambury Hideaway
This one’s a three-hour drive to Dorset but it’s well worth the extra-time. Hambury Hideaway is a masterclass in staycation spots and has all you’ll need for a cracking time. It’s a newly-renovated, modern spot right on the coast of Dorset, with 10 bedrooms, bar, swimming pool, cinema room, open fireplace, underfloor heating and more. Oh, and the beds are SUPER-king-sized. What more could you possibly need?

7. Hamps Hall
Welcome to the house of fun! Hamps Hall is a beautiful, historic hall equipped with plenty of games and luxury living. It boasts an Xbox room, library room, table football and ping-pong, and is topped off with a beautiful lawn decorated in the shrubbery. You’ll never get bored here. As with above locations, a maximum of two households will be permitted to hire this spot for now.

8. Rosegarden Manor
Another gorgeous Peak District spot to feast your eyes on. You’ll get 73-acres of land on this 1872-built manor to wander around. The estate itself dates all the way back to the 1300s, with a nice Georgian remodelling. As well as the cluster of stunning rooms, you’ll even be entitled to the eggs from the land’s chickens and fresh fruit and vegetables grown on the manor. Sitting by the lake (yes, it comes with lake) with the freshest breakfast you can find seems close to heavenly, doesn’t it?
