Ditch the neighbours and spend a weekend playing lord (or lady) of the manor at one of these epic party rentals.
When it comes to hosting big parties, your one-bed flat in Peckham doesn’t quite cut the mustard, so we’ve put together a list of houses that can be exclusively yours for one weekend only. Prepare to celebrate in style with a bit of good, old-fashioned revelry…
1. The Italian House
Plonk down £6,000 on this place and you and 11 of your mates can spend the weekend playing Italian royal families (that works out at £250 per person per night). Situated in the Oxfordshire countryside, you’ll only need to spend an hour and a half on the road before arriving at The Italian House for a weekend of lavish luxury.
The house offers you a huge variety of living spaces in which to consume all the Aperol spritz and spaghetti carbonara you could ever dream of. The dining table seats 20, so you’re all set for a weekend of Italian-style feasting. Viva l’Italia! There’s also a heated pool, tennis court and games room.
2. The Walled Garden
This property is a little more low-key than the last, but it certainly offers everything you could ever need for a weekend to remember. For £5,900 you can host up to 16 people for a weekend (that’s £184 per person per night) in the charming Suffolk countryside.
A 2 hour drive from central London and you could spend a weekend in The Walled Garden, sipping champagne in the private hot tub. Or, there’s always the tennis court and the heated pool if (unlike us) you’re looking for something a bit more active.
The perfect venue. Just try not to spill any red wine on the pristine white sofas!
3. Sibton Park
Ok, this place is off the charts unreal. Unfortunately, (but not surprisingly) it comes with a price tag to match. Two nights in this palatial home in Suffolk will set you back £10,350 for a two-night weekend in high season. However, as this place is hugemungous enough to sleep 24 people, you’ll actually only be spending £215 per person per night. Ok, still not great – and certainly not within our price range – but it could be worse, right?
Just one look at the games room and you’ll start convincing yourself that £215 isn’t too bad for a night’s stay somewhere as insanely cool as this.
Along with their home cinema and games room the 4,500 acre Sibton Park estate also boasts a swimming pool, hot tub and tennis court. Naturally.
4. Fair Oak Farm
This East Sussex gem is the perfect rural escape for stressed-out Londoners. For three nights, you can indulge in a weekend of country pursuits with a stay in one of Fair Oak Farm‘s beautifully appointed rooms. They even offer on-site falconry, guys.
Oh, and did we mention their treehouse eco-lodges? Or their resident peacocks and alpacas?
This place costs £5,620 for a three night stay in high-season and – as a house that’s able to sleep up to 36 people – this property is our best value by far, working out at £52 per person per night. Well, that’s if you and your squad are organised enough to all commit to a long weekend away and pay up – which is one hell of an organisational task if you ask us! But hey, a girl can dream, right?
If you’re looking for more modern than manor then this might be the house for you. Located in the heart of Cheltenham, this place is a thoroughly modern party pad perfect for those of you who’d rather not worry about accidentally breaking priceless family heirlooms after having one too many.
Renting Skyhaus for a two-day weekend in high-season costs £3950 and sleeps up to 16 people, so a full house would work out at £123 per person per night. For that price you’ll get access to a heated outdoor pool, a 60″ TV and a hot tub. All the ingredients for a perfect lad’s weekend? Although stag parties beware: you are not welcome!
6. The Court House
Another property with the potential to house a very big weekend, The Court House in Gloucestershire sleeps up to 22 people. Perfect for parties with its games room, bar, heated swimming pool, fire pit, hot tub, and library… Ok, maybe a library isn’t really a key ingredient to a big weekend, but it’s a novel inclusion all the same.
Challenge your mates to some competitive pool and celebrate (or commiserate) with a drink in the games room bar.
This place costs £8,100 for a two-night high-season stay which works out at £184 per person per night. But who could put a price on feeling like royalty (in a house that once accommodated Charles I)? Well, Kate & Tom’s can and it’s £8,100 – so get saving.
