There are few places in London as effortlessly iconic as Park Lane – a street synonymous with elegance, old-school glamour, and a Monopoly board price tag (the highest one might I add). So, when the opportunity arose for a one-night stay at the London Hilton on Park Lane, we were super super excited to live the part for one night.
The hotel
The London Hilton on Park Lane isn’t just a hotel – it’s a London landmark. Sitting tall and proud on one of the city’s most prestigious streets, this sleek glass tower of luxury has been hosting the rich, famous, and fabulous since 1963.
First things first, the location is unbeatable. Right on Park Lane in Mayfair, you’re steps away from Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, and some of the best shopping in the city (hello, Bond Street and Harrods). Whether you’re here to explore, eat, or just soak up the five-star treatment, this hotel puts you right in the heart of it all.
Inside, it’s all about understated elegance. Think polished marble floors, plush furnishings, and warm lighting that makes everything feel extra fancy. The rooms and suites? Pure comfort. Many come with floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can wake up to breathtaking views of Hyde Park and the London skyline. If you’re lucky enough to snag a suite (spoiler alert), you’ll get a spacious lounge, a dreamy king-sized bed, and access to the Executive Lounge for complimentary drinks and snacks (more on that later).
Not to forget – this hotel knows how to feed you well. Park Corner Brasserie serves up modern British dishes with a seasonal twist. And if you fancy a cocktail (or three), Revery Bar is the spot.
Need some downtime? The hotel has a luxury spa, a fitness centre for those who actually use hotel gyms (good for you), and top-tier concierge services to sort out whatever you need.
And this is just the beginning!
The suite: a room with a view (and then some)
Let’s talk about the Executive Park Lane Suite – because, honestly, it’s the kind of room that makes you want to cancel your plans and just stay in.
Floor-to-ceiling windows? Check. Hyde Park views? Spectacular. A bed so big and comfy it practically swallows you whole? Absolutely.
As we stepped inside, we were immediately drawn to the breathtaking view – the kind that makes you stop mid-conversation and just soak in the beauty of the city.
The living area was stylish yet supremely comfortable, complete with a plush sofa, a work desk (not that we planned on working), and a well-stocked minibar. The bedroom? A dream. The king-sized bed was so luxuriously inviting that we briefly considered skipping dinner and diving straight in.
The marble bathroom was just as impressive, featuring a deep-soaking bathtub, a powerful rainfall shower, and a selection of Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries that smelled divine. A Nespresso machine, soft robes, and fluffy slippers were the final touches that made us feel truly at home.
An added perk? Access to the Executive Lounge, where we enjoyed complimentary drinks and canapés while watching the sunset over Hyde Park.
The food
Dinner at Park Corner Brasserie was nothing short of a feast – the kind of meal that has you leaning back in your chair halfway through, wondering how you’ll possibly make room for dessert, yet somehow managing anyway. The portions were generous, the flavours bold, and every dish felt like it had been crafted with real attention to detail.
We started with a selection of small plates that could have easily been a meal on their own. The slow-cooked pork belly was rich, tender, and topped with the perfect crisp of crackling, balanced by a tangy apple BBQ sauce and celeriac slaw. The corn ribs had just the right hit of lime chilli salt and smoky BBQ sauce, while the pâté with quince jelly and brioche was smooth, indulgent, and almost too good to share. The hand-dived Orkney scallops were cooked beautifully and served with celeriac in three ways, bringing a lovely balance of texture and depth. Meanwhile, the cured Scottish salmon with lemon curd provided a refreshing, citrusy contrast to the richer starters.
By the time the mains arrived, we were already starting to feel full, but that didn’t stop us from diving in. The lobster mac and cheese was the definition of indulgence – creamy, packed with chunks of lobster, and with just the right amount of red pepper to lift the dish. The slow-cooked duck leg was fall-apart tender, paired with a buttery leek and potato mash and a rich shallot sauce. And the ribeye steak, cooked to perfection, was everything you could want from a well-seared cut of beef, served with thick-cut chips and a classic peppercorn sauce.
Then came dessert – because, despite being completely and utterly full, there’s always room for something sweet. The sticky toffee and plum pudding was warm, comforting, and drenched in rich toffee sauce, made even better with a scoop of clotted cream ice cream. The chocolate and orange brownie was deeply fudgey with just the right hint of citrus, while the winter berry Eton mess brought a lighter, tangy-sweet contrast to round things off.
I’d like to say that this was not a normal dinner – we were truly given the most generous and special treatment courtesy Chef Jean-Didier Gouges. At Park Corner Brasserie, this generosity translates into portion sizes that are as generous as the flavours, creating a truly satisfying experience from start to finish.
You can sense his passion for making guests feel truly pampered, ensuring that every bite leaves you feeling both nourished and delighted. In his kitchen, it’s not just about the food – it’s about creating a welcoming, indulgent experience that leaves a lasting impression, making you want to come back again and again. Chef Gouges’ culinary generosity is reflected in every dish, ensuring that each guest feels not only well-fed but truly cared for. And we absolutely did.
The breakfast
The next morning, we decided to make the most of our breathtaking view and opted for room service breakfast – because when you’re staying in a suite with views of Hyde Park, why leave the room?
We went for the Full English Breakfast – a hearty spread of crispy bacon, sausages, eggs cooked just how you like them, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms, and a side of toasted sourdough. It was the ultimate comfort food to fuel our day and perfectly cooked, with each component piping hot and satisfying.
We also tried the Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were perfectly runny, smothered in the richest hollandaise sauce with a generous portion of smoked salmon, served on freshly toasted English muffins. Sipping coffee and taking in the iconic London skyline, we truly felt like we were living the high life and were not ready to confront check out.
Final impressions
Our stay at the London Hilton on Park Lane was absolutely unforgettable – luxury and comfort wrapped up in a seriously impressive package. From the moment we stepped into the Executive Park Lane Suite, with its jaw-dropping views of Hyde Park, we knew we were in for something special.
And don’t even get us started on Park Corner Brasserie – Chef Jean-Didier Gouges’ dishes were so generous and full of flavour that we were practically rolling out of there by the end of the night (in the best way possible).
If you want to experience London in the lap of luxury, with amazing food, a gorgeous room, and views that make you want to move in forever, the London Hilton on Park Lane is your spot.
