Hawker House is an awesome street food market found inside an expansive London warehouse near Canada Water.
Stuffed with nine street food traders and five bars, Hawker House has all the ingredients for a wicked night out. There’s also a large ‘Land of Bamboo’ outdoor terrace that opens in the summer, with additional bars and tropical cocktails.
Here’s what’s on the menu:
Born & Raised
These guys serve wood-fired pizza out of a converted Land Rover Defender. And would you just look at it!
Dreamin’ Dough
Dreamin’ Dough dish up dairy-free doughnuts. They’re hot, they’re delicious, and they’re 100% vegan. Give them a go!
INK
INK are known for their gorgeous salt and Szechuan crispy squid served with very Instagrammable, pastel-coloured mayos. It’s well worth a try.
Mother Clucker
Chances are you’ve heard of these guys — they’re renowned for their legendary fried chicken. It’s tea-brined, buttermilk-soaked and twice-battered. In other words, it’s really clucking good.
Petare
This lot serve Venezuelan arepas and they are out of this world. Totaly authentic and stuffed with the likes of guava-glazed chicken and plantain. Can’t get enough!
Raastawala
Raastawala serve tasty garlic and coriander naans stuffed with 24 hour-marinated meats, Kolkata-style. The ultimate treat!
Salt Shed
Salt Shed is the brainchild of two London pals who had a particularly meaty vision. Their menu will leave meat lovers feeling very indecisive – but all options are good ones, IMHO.
Yum Bun
Yum Bun’s fluffy steamed buns are definitely worth trying. Fill ’em with slow-roasted pork belly, crispy cod or tofu, black bean and garlic mayo.
Yumplings
From the same team behind Yum Bun, these yummy little dumplings are steamed and served with spicy sauces. Try the gyoza, the mushroom or the pork and chive dumplings!
