It was built in 2006 and was designed for a population of 10,000 inhabitants. (Not quite the ever-expanding 8.5 million people who live in London). However, unlike our capital, the population of Thames Town is diminishing. It is, in fact, fast becoming an eery ghost town.

Thames Town is not the only thing China has copied from our beloved capital (we can’t exactly point the finger, considering that China Town is such a massive hub in London!) Have a look at this almost identical replica of Tower Bridge in Suzhou. The only difference is that it does not have a functioning draw bridge…
