Tonight, you can watch one of theatre’s great tragedies from your sofa.
These days, it can feel like we are living through a nightmare. And what better way to distract you than a play of a tale even more nightmarish.
Yes, the gargantuan Shakespeare play of murder, loss and destruction is streaming on YouTube tonight. Hamlet can be viewed in all its gory glory via the Shakespeare Globe Theatre. You’ll witness Michelle Terry’s fantastic rendition of the famous role, all for free, tonight at 7pm. It is the first in a series of free Globe streams, that was announced last week.
If you miss Hamlet tonight, do not fret. The performance will be available online for two weeks before the next performance goes up. Which, for the record, just so happens to be Romeo and Juliet.
Hamlet dates back to around 1600, but you will able to witness this 2018 Globe rendition. It is the first of what is set to be an enthralling streaming experience.
Stream Hamlet tonight from 7pm, live and available at the Globe’s YouTube channel.
