Last week, Celebrity Traitors star Joe Lycett launched a campaign to spotlight the ongoing crisis of British pub closures. As part of it, he funded free drinks at a number of pubs across London and the UK, encouraging punters to get out of the house and head to their local. Inspired by this, and to fight ever-rising pint prices, over 25 pubs across London are slashing prices and serving up half-price pints for one weekend only.

If you’ve spent any time in London boozers lately, you’ve likely noticed that the price of a pint just seems to keep going up. Just last year or the year before, we were bemoaning the fact that pints had started to cost as much as 7 or even £8. But nowadays, prices are getting even higher. It feels like the day of the £10 pint could be approaching!

Fortunately, EatClub is coming to the rescue. They’re offering to cut the cost of our next round in half this weekend! The deals app is encouraging punters to head to their local by giving people 50% off their bill at over 25 pubs in London on October 24.

How to get half-price pints

To enjoy your half-price pints this weekend, you’ll need to pay for them through the EatClub app. Here’s how to do it in a few easy steps:

1. Download the EatClub app
2. Sign up or log in with your existing EatClub account
3. Set up EatClub Pay and add your digital card to your mobile wallet
4. Find a participating pub in the app and redeem your offer( Make sure to check for the specific time window that you’re after!)
5. Head to the pub at the offer arrival time
6. When you pay, select your digital EatClub card and tap to pay on the pub’s card reader

And presto – you’ve saved a boatload of money! (Enough to warrant another round, I reckon.)
