Another day, another piece of ravishing real estate to hit London’s property market. This particularly luxurious listing comes courtesy of comedian, broadcaster, and all-round national treasure, Graham Norton. Having lived in his stunning home in Wapping for 20 years, Norton is reportedly moving on to pastures new; leaving the picture-perfect pad to be snapped up by somebody else. Well, somebody who has a spare £5 million kicking about, that is.
Listed with the property-pros over at Knight Frank, the four-storey Georgian townhouse is perched on the banks of the River Thames. And it offers some truly spectacular views towards the likes of Tower Bridge and The Shard. The jaw-droppingly gorgeous gaff dates all the way back to 1811 and – among other things – boasts four bedrooms, two reception rooms, and five reception rooms. Oh, and a private beach that can only be accessed twice a day at low tide.
Inside the property
The property is split into two sections, seamlessly blending the gorgeous character of a period townhouse with the modern charm of a converted warehouse. Think high ceilings, exposed brickwork, wooden beams, and bundles of natural light. And not a big red chair in sight. With its private patio area, riverside garden, principal suite that spans the entire top floor, and the aforementioned beach; I can safely say there’s a new item at the top of my manifestation list.
Norton’s home has been listed for £4,950,000. And look, what I’m about to say may well be down to the fact that I’ve officially lost the plot – but, all things considered, that doesn’t seem like a wildly unreasonable price to me. Okay, I think I might have lived in London for too long…
