London sure glows pretty bright at Christmas time, what with all the Christmas lights and markets lighting up the night sky. And that’s not to mention the city’s numerous light trails and festivals – such as the one that just transformed RHS Wisley into a stunning winter wonderland.
The Surrey garden is an absolutely gorgeous spot to visit no matter the time of year. And sure, it’s not in London London. But come on – it’s only an hour out of Central London! And you truly don’t want to miss it now that its annual wintry light trail has opened. This year’s display features a “new illuminated trail, with spectacular new views and playful, enchanting features”.
Running from November 22 to January 5, 2025, Glow at RHS Wisley, invites you to gather your friends, wrap up warm, and watch the magical garden come to life. It’s a proper wintry spectacle, and they’ve gone above and beyond with this year’s experience.
The Glow at RHS Wisley trail
They’ve debuted an all-new trail for 2024 that takes guests through the Seven Acres (“past giant flowers that come to life with a simple touch”) to the show-stopping Glasshouse. The trail then takes guests through the Tropical House to see the tropical plants in a whole new light. New for this year is a pontoon that takes guests over the Glasshouse Lake. It reveals a “breathtaking view of the garden as never seen before”.
When you visit, be sure not to miss the sparkling star arch or the twinkling tunnel of light along Wisteria Walk. And get those cameras ready, because there are photo ops aplenty – including a field of flames!
All in all, Glow at RHS Wisley is a truly dazzling experience. As you wander around, a special soundtrack fills the air. Festive tunes are accompanied by magical narration from Jack Frost – A Winter Story. The story was written and narrated by Alan Tichmarsh, and the music was composed by Debbie Wiseman.
As if the light trail wasn’t enough, guests can also enjoy plenty of festive food and Christmas shopping. Over at the Welcome Terrace, you’ll find festive-themed chalets selling hot drinks, including mulled wine and spiced apple juice, and a range of delicious treats. Whether you just want a snack or a more hearty meal, they’ve got you covered. Not to mention RHS Wisley’s Terrace Restaurant, Wisley Café, and Glasshouse Kitchen.
Head on down to RHS Wisley and enjoy ” the brightest night of the year”.
