Tired: gingerbread house. Wired: gingerbread Covent Garden.
I think we can safely call off the search for 2019’s best gingerbread house, because Biscuiteers just created a gingerbread version of Covent Garden, and we can do nothing but applaud. Weighing in at a seriously chonky 10kg, the gingerbread Covent Garden Market will be on display inside the non-biscuit version from Monday, November 11th. Make no mistake, this is next-level festive inspiration…
The gingerbread Covent Garden took two dedicated Biscuiteers over 100 hours to bake, construct, and ice, and the level of detail is impressive. They’ve iced every single pane of glass in the market, and decorated the frontages of every store and restaurant. Even Covent Garden’s Christmas decorations make an appearance, with the West Piazza Christmas tree and the market’s festive garlands all rendered in icing.
The gingerbread market has been created to celebrate Biscuiteers popping up in Covent Garden for the season, where they’ll be selling bespoke tins filled with Covent Garden-inspired biscuits, along with mugs, aprons, and cake tins. You’ll be able to see their creation until the New Year, and whilst this really should go without saying, please don’t eat the market…
