After much anticipation, the all-new Gibson Garage has officially opened in the West End. Providing music-loving Londoners with a retail experience like no other, Gibson have gone the extra mile with this fabulous addition to the city’s iconic shopping district.
Located just off Oxford Street at 61-62 Eastcastle Street, the Gibson Garage is the ultimate guitar experience and destination for rockers across the globe, making it the perfect place to explore Gibson’s 130-year music history.
Visitors can not only pick up, play, and buy guitars, amplifiers, and effects, but are encouraged to do so, with mind-bending paraphernalia from from Gibson, Epiphone, Kramer, and more! Take your pick from over 300 electric and acoustic guitars, or take a piece of history home thanks to their one-of-a-kind instruments, limited-edition gear, accessories, and apparel.
You can even design your very own dream guitar from Gibson Custom in-store, creating a truly unique guitar that is put together just for you. On top of this, you can expect weekly live performances, artist showcases, and panel discussions, thanks to their fabulous state-of-the-art stage located on the lower level.
There will also be a the new Gibson Gallery, which will play host to must-see exhibitions surrounding music culture, as well as showcasing the works of British artists and photographers. The first exhibition at the Gibson Gallery will feature an exclusive collection by Gered Mankowitz, the legendary rock ‘n’ roll photographer whose work over the past 50 years has helped define the visual imagery of influential musicians.
He has photographed music legends like The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, PP Arnold, Kate Bush, Elton John, and more, making it the perfect exhibition to kick things off at the all-new Gibson Garage.
Cesar Gueikian, Gibson President and CEO, states, “When we first began designing the Gibson Garage, our global flagship, we asked ourselves, ‘What do we want our fans to experience when walking into Gibson?’
We imagined an immersive dream space where fans walk in and say, ‘Wow, this is the place that Gibson should have always had!’
Gibson now boasts two locations of this immersive shopping space, with London being the second addition following their flagship in Nashville.
