Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get going in the New Year. Energy levels can be low and calm if you’ve overdone it on the 31st, but there’s always the option of ramping it up even further by going to the darts. Wasting no time at all, the World Dart’s Championship final takes place on January 3, and will provide an instant Friday of entertainment.
If you missed out on a spot at Ally Pally to catch it live in the flesh, you can find the next best thing over at the giant beer hall that is Big Penny Social in Walthamstow.
Recreating the raucous atmosphere that is synonymous with going to watch the darts, you’ll be able to catch all the action on the giant HD screens in the space that has become known for live event brilliance, from the World Cup to Eurovision. Plus, there will be the cherished ‘180’ cards handed out to add to the wild abandon that is sure to take place when Luke Littler and Co. step up in front of the board.
All the action kicks off at 6pm, and as this is the darts, the party will be going on until the early hours with DJs playing til late and closing time listed as 1am. There is also heavy encouragement and expectation for the best fancy dress you can muster up, with prizes being awarded to those with the outfits that go as hard as hitting the bullseye.
You can catch the action of the World Darts Championship at Big Penny Social, 1 Priestley Way, E17 6AL (nearest station is Blackhorse Road) on Friday, January 3, with the action kicking off at 6pm. Entry is free, but it is recommended to book a spot here.
