Combining the joy of a treasure hunt with the reward of a free sweet treat, gelato vendor Badiani is hosting an enormous free gelato giveaway this week. A gelato bike will be travelling around some of the city’s most popular spots this Friday and Saturday. And if you find it, you can nab yourself a free scoop – perfect for beating the incredible temperatures we’re set to experience this Bank Holiday weekend.
The Florence-born family of gelato shops has been perfecting the art of gelato for over 9 decades. They’re so proud of the signature Buontalenti gelato (which combines just cream, milk, sugar and eggs) that they’re giving away thousands of scoops this week. And to claim it, all you have to do is find the Buontalenti bike!
How to get free gelato from the gelato bike
This week, the Buontalenti bike will be making its way around three popular areas in London:
- On May 21 (this Thursday), the Buontalenti bike will be travelling around Covent Garden and the Strand with free gelato from 1-5pm.
- On May 22 (this Friday), the gelato bike will be roaming around Canary Wharf between 1-5pm.
- On May 23 (this Saturday), you’ll find it cycling up and down Hampstead Heath, doling out free sweet treats between 1-5pm.
To beat the heat with some free gelato, all you have to do is find the bike and grab a freebie! Fortunately, they’ve outfitted the bike with a GPS tracker, so you don’t need to hunt far and wide. Just head to the Badiani website, and track the bike!
Those who find the bike will score a free scoop of Buontalenti and receive a voucher for 20% off their next in-store visit to a Badiani location. And since the brand has over 14 shops scattered around the city, you’re sure to have a gelato shop near you to claim your discount.
