What’s better than a crisp, cold beer on a warm, sunny day, I hear you ask? Well, the answer to that question is really quite simple, folks. A crisp, cold beer that also happens to be completely free. That’s what. And on Saturday (June 28), an open-top party bus will be journeying through the streets to London, providing exactly that.
This magical beer-bus comes courtesy of Oktoberfest on the Common (the UK’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration). They’ve teamed up with the beer-buffs over at Jubel to quench the thirst of some very lucky Londoners this sunny Saturday. And look, I have no clue why we’re starting to celebrate Oktoberfest in June – but if there’s a free pint involved, I’m certainly not going to argue.
How can you get your hands on the free beer?
The decked-out double-decker will be fully stocked with Jubel beer and a live band, and will be stopping at five of London’s most legendary landmarks throughout the afternoon. The bus will be picking up and dropping off around 20 passengers at each stop, and it will work on a first come, first served basis. No booking needed, and certainly no Oyster card required. Just head to your stop of choice, hop aboard, and let the good times (and the free beer) flow.
Where and when will the beer bus be stopping?
- 1.15pm: Westminster Bridge & Parliament Square
- 1.45pm: Buckingham Palace
- 2.15pm: St Paul’s Cathedral
- 2.45pm: Tower Bridge
- 3.15pm: London Eye
- 4pm: Return to a pub in Clapham
The beer bus will be taking to the streets of London on Saturday, June 28. It will be stopping for around 10 minutes and collecting around 20 passengers at each stop. For live updates, stop alerts and exact pick-up locations; keep an eye on Oktoberfest on the Common’s Instagram page.
