Here at Secret London, we’re certainly not surreptitious about the rather sizeable soft spot that we have for our big, bright, brilliant city. As far as we’re concerned, London (and the wealth of wonderful things to see and do here) will always reign supreme as the best place to live. But that’s not to say that we don’t get pretty darn excited at the prospect of a handy new (and ultra wallet-friendly) way to hotfoot it straight out of the capital when we fancy a change of scenery. And that, my friends, is exactly what I come bearing today.
The sustainable travel tycoons over at FlixBus have just announced that they’ll be launching a load more of their cheap-and-cheerful coach services to and from the capital city soon. The wheels of these new daily departures are very nearly in motion, and they’ll offer passengers the chance to traverse the length and breadth of the country for as little as £4.49.
The new routes in question will directly connect London (and its various major airports) with the likes of Doncaster, Blackpool, Halifax, Huddersfield and York from April 1. FlixBus will also soon be launching its first ever services to Essex and Suffolk, with routes to and from Colchester, Chelmsford, and Ipswich setting off in May.
The rather hefty expansion will also involve increasing the frequency of some of FlixBus’s most popular routes (including Leicester, Sheffield, Leeds, Bournemouth, and Bath) and levelling up its airport connectivity. There will be a new connection between Heathrow Airport and Brighton, as well as new services running to and from Gatwick, too.
As one of the fastest growing travel brands, there are now over 100 UK destinations scattered across the FlixBus network. And it seems as though that offering is only set to get more impressive; giving Brits the chance to explore every corner of the country in a comfortable, convenient, and eco-friendly way – without having to break the bank.
