Ernie’s Yard is promising twelve-hour dance parties this summer.
Central London may have Neal’s Yard, but the East is about to unleash their own yard champion with Ernie’s Yard, a brand new shipping container hub that’ll be home to bars, street food hangouts, and plenty of space for dancing. Setting up shop in a former scrapyard in Canning Town, Ernie’s Yard will extend across 12,000 square feet of party space when it opens on June 25, and looks poised to quickly become a London favourite.
Ernie’s Yard has been constructed entirely out of repurposed shipping containers, and once open, it’ll boast an 11pm license to let those afternoon sessions run gleefully on into the wee hours. There’ll be a dedicated area for clubbing inside a double height space, complete with a balcony and booths overlooking the dancefloor. Meanwhile, the food space will host an enviable lineup of street food traders – although their exact identities are still TBC.
To celebrate their first summer, Ernie’s Yard are planning a series of twelve-hour, open-air dance parties to make up for all those missed Printworks sessions over the past year. They’ve already lined up promoters including Secretsundaze, Syzygy, Feelings Worldwide, and Percolate to help plan these nights, so you know you’re in for a good time. Oh, and they’ve also designed the site to be British weatherproof, which will come in handy during that inevitable summer rain.
All in all, the Yard promises to be “a killer new daytime space for London”, and that’s before we even mention that it sits behind an old Russian steam bath, rumoured to be guarded by a goat named Vladamir. So, if you’re intent on misbehavin’ around here, you might find yourself bounced by the mighty Vlad. Ernie’s Yard is shaping up to be quite the adventure, isn’t it…
You’ll find Ernie’s Yard at Bidder St, Canning Town, E16 4ST, from June 25. Nearest station is Star Lane.
