The Downton Abbey Castle Is Now Listed On Airbnb

For the first time ever, and for one-night only, the famous castle from everyone’s favourite period drama is opening its doors for an exclusive overnight stay. Based on the Airbnb ad, there is no doubt you will be treated like royalty.

Lady Carnavon, owner of Highclere and registered hostess with the mostest, is inviting you and your fellow Lord or Lady to sleep in one of the castle’s bedrooms, living the dream as the fantasy owner of a stately home.

During the stay, you will get the opportunity to explore the iconic rooms you know so well from Downton Abbey. You can follow in the footsteps of kings and queens, in celebration of the motion picture event, Downton Abbey (for which we can get you discounted tickets – just saying!).

Covering 100,000 square feet, the grand Highclere Castle encompasses 300 rooms, opulently decorated and furnished, with each detail providing a unique insight into its history. Real-life royals, Lord and Lady Carnarvon, will welcome you into their home on arrival. After settling you into your bedroom, they will invite you to join them for an exclusive evening drinking cocktails in the Saloon.

You will then join the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon in the State Dining Room for a traditional dinner, being waited on by Highclere Castle’s own butler. This will be followed by coffee in the Library, before the time comes to retire to one of the Gallery bedrooms (en-suite bathroom and views over 1,000 acres of rolling parkland included).

Come morning, a delicious breakfast will be served, before you embark on a private tour of the extensive grounds, soaking up the rich history and heritage of the 17th century castle. Sadly, that’s then time for your luxury stay to come to an end, but Lord and Lady Carnarvon will present you with a special gift, so you can enjoy a little bit of Highclere Castle at home.
