Everyone’s favourite period drama is coming to the cinema – and, as always, we’ve got discounted tickets!
It’s the television series that stole our hearts, and it’s back… in feature-length form.
The Downton Abbey TV series followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in an Edwardian English country home.
Over six spectacular seasons, the series bagged 3 Golden Globe Awards, 15 Primetime Emmy Awards, a Special BAFTA award and 69 Emmy nominations in total, making Downton Abbey the most nominated non-US television show in the history of the Emmys. It even won a Guinness World Record for the highest critically rated TV show along the way!
The new movie continues the saga of the Crawley family and will be set in 1927 – a year on from the TV series finale. You can expect to see all of your favourite stars from the ITV series, including Hugh Bonneville as the Earl of Downton, Joanne Froggatt as Anna Bates, and Dame Maggie Smith as the Dowager Countess.
Some exciting new stars have joined the cast too, with Killing Eve’s David Haig as the royal butler and Geraldine James as Queen Mary.
