Dishoom are dishing the dirt on their recipes.
If you think about it for a moment, there are so many upsides to a Dishoom cookbook. First advantage, they’ll teach you how to make those legendary hangover-curing bacon naan rolls at home, so the restorative sarnie will be at your fingertips. Secondly, if people are cooking Dishoom’s dishes at home, their equally legendary queues are likely to be a little shorter, so us poor suckers who haven’t yet been can actually get inside. Win, win, win, as far as I’m concerned.
Dishoom announced the news in an Instagram post, promising “recipes for almost everything on our menu”. That means bacon naan rolls, okra fries, lamb raan, and vegan dishes like jackfruit biryani will soon be coming to a kitchen near you. They’re also throwing in some refreshing drinks recipes for the full dining experience. Titled Dishoom: From Bombay with Love, the book will also function as a love letter of sorts to old Bombay, focusing on the food, culture, and history of the city.
You’ll need to wait until September to get your hands on one. Yes, I’m aware that nothing I cook from it will actually look like or taste as good as the Dishoom original. I can still dream though…
