If you’ve been paying attention to the latest West End news, you’re no doubt well aware that a hot new show is landing in London soon. A ‘Devil Wears Prada’ musical adaptation is set to open at the Dominion Theatre on October 24. And for those who are bursting with excitement at the news (aka all of us), a special ‘Devil Wears Prada’ afternoon tea is also arriving in town. How chic!
From next week, fans can head to The Bloomsbury’s stunning Coral Room cocktail bar to enjoy a fabulous ‘Devil Wears Prada’ afternoon tea. There’s even an accompanying cocktail menu to boot. Kicking off on September 30, the themed afternoon tea blends haute couture with indulgent flavours in one of London’s prettiest bars.
The ‘Runway Afternoon Tea’ treats guests to a range of sweet and savoury treats. Each one has been inspired by a dish or iconic line from the movie. They range from Nate’s Grilled Cheese and Buttermilk and Sultana Scones to the delightfully named “No Foam Skimmed Latte with an Extra Shot” – a Hazelnut Opera Cake with coffee and caramel – and “A Single Cube of Cheese” – New York Cheesecake with Papua New Guinean Vanilla. There’s even a cerulean-hued dessert!
And naturally, naturally darling, you can add some luxe champagne to the experience. The afternoon tea is priced at £48 per person, or £65 if you also opt for a glass of Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Champagne.
Devilish cocktails
Now, they’re not stopping at just launching a ‘Devil Wears Prada’ afternoon tea. The Coral Room has also unveiled a selection of signature ‘The Devil is Back’ cocktails. We’re particularly excited for the Cerulean – a mix of Silent Pool Gin, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, and Butterfly Pea Tea. The vibrant colour is sure to stand out amidst the coral-coloured walls of the Coral Room.
The menu also includes the Runway Royale, with Mijenta Tequila Reposado, Galliano Vanilla Liqueur, and Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve. They promise it will ‘”make you feel like you’ve “sold your soul for a pair of Jimmy Choos”‘. And then there’s The Miranda Club with a mix of Altamura Vodka, Hedgerow Berry & Rose Shrub, and Cocchi Extra Dry Vermouth. It’s a drink that “epitomises refined elegance” much like the eponymous editor-in-chief.
No matter if you’re here for the afternoon tea, the special cocktails, or the high fashion, you don’t want to miss out.
