We’ve banged on about BookBar a fair bit on this page, and for good reason. Not only is it a brilliant place to hang out with a glass of wine and chat about books, among books, but they also put on a host of thoughtful and engaging events with authors.
That theme is continuing, with BookBar just going ahead and announcing their biggest-ever event with David Nicholls, author of the beloved One Day. It’s a perfect meeting of bookish hearts, not least because One Day has been on everyone’s lips this year after the release of the Netflix adaptation (which Nicholls also executive produced).
BookBar x David Nicholls
On June 11, David Nicholls will take to Conway Hall to speak with Conversation On Love author Natasha Lunn about his brand-new book You Are Here, which will be released on April 23.
You Are Here is the sixth novel by David Nicholls, and is a love story that follows Michael and Marnie, the friendship they form and their walks in the moors together.
Speaking about the event, BookBar said: BookBar said: “We are so excited to be marking out third birthday with such a big event with cherished local author David Nicholls. David has been such an enormous supporter of BookBar from the very beginning and we are so lucky to be bringing our community together to celebrate his wonderful new novel You Are Here.”
It’s a fitting time for BookBar to announce their largest-ever event, too, since they just turned three today, which has been marked with tickets going on sale for the June event. You can grab yours here.
David Nicholls will be in conversation with Natasha Lunn on June 11, with the event kicking off at 7pm at Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Street WC1R 4RL (nearest stations are Holborn and Chancery Lane). In the meantime, you can head down to BookBar 166 Blackstock Road, N5 1HA (nearest station is Arsenal).
