The new addition makes Covent Garden that little bit more magical.
There are many free things to do in London, but sadly ice skating hasn’t often been amongst them. That changed recently, however, when Covent Garden unveiled a pretty ice rink in collaboration with Tiffany & Co – one which is entirely free to skate on.
The rink is small but perfectly formed, surrounded by frosted pine trees and trademark splashes of Tiffany turquoise, along with some oversized (but sadly empty) presents. It’s all lovely and festive, and the prospect of free skating is certainly enticing too, with the rink sticking around until Boxing Day.
Many of you are probably waiting for the catch, and I’m afraid there is one. Tickets to glide around the rink sold out pretty immediately (I wonder why?), so you can’t prebook sessions – however, there’s still a chance to get on the ice by turning up on the day and registering with the onsite brand ambassadors. Which is, admittedly, a faff, but free ice skating in the heart of Covent Garden is a hard one to turn down…
