Instagram sensation Coqfighter have launched their first sit-down restaurant in Soho.
I, for one, have been following Coqfighter on Instagram for as long as I can remember. But before I go on, I want to make it known that I’m actually coeliac. I literally can’t even eat this food but HOLY HOT DAMN it looks so good.
Coqfighter made their name with various successful kitchen takeovers, and later serving up fried chicken to hungry Londoners at Boxpark Shoreditch and Croydon. Now, that latter part hasn’t changed but, back in May, they launched their first Actual Restaurant, and you’ll find it on none other than Soho’s Beak Street. (Yes, B E A K.)
[Since you’ll be in the area, check out these superb Soho bars.]
Their new restaurant features all the Coqfighter favourites, and a whole lot more. There’ll be Fried Chicken Baos with Szechuan mayo, pickled daikon, coriander and Korean hot sauce, and their practically famous Honey Ginger Buffalo Burger doused in smoked garlic mayo and house pickles. Not forgetting the Vodka & Sesame Battered Wings with sweet soy glaze and Korean hot sauce!
To wash it all down, there’ll be Old and New World wines to match all the dishes, plus a bunch of playful cocktails. Try a Szechuan Negroni made with gin, Campari, sweet vermouth and a Szechuan mist, or a Magic Carpet Ride with vodka, jasmine tea, shiso and soda. There’ll also be Coqfighter’s very own lager on offer, as well as a rotating selection of craft beer.

Opening hours: Monday to Thursday, 12-10pm. Friday and Saturday, 12-10:30pm. Sunday, 12-6pm.
