When I say ‘Christmas tree‘ it evokes a certain image in your mind, doesn’t it? A tall, bright green, spruce or fir tree, adorned with baubles and all kinds of ornaments. It’s probably decorated with an array of Christmas lights. Perhaps it’s real, perhaps it’s a fake tree you’ve kept in the attic for decades. Maybe there’s a star perched on top. Whatever the image you’re picturing, it’s probably not quite what Connaught Village has in store with their Christmas display.
Connaught Village kicked off their holiday celebrations back on November 17 with the unveiling of their Christmas lights, and an afternoon of festivities. Alongside the lights turning on was the unveiling of the latest makeover of their Tree of Love, Joy and Hope, which has been taken over by an ‘All I want for Christmas is…’ installation. The display, still complemented by the iconic neon hearts, is now lighting up the streets and provides the perfect fodder for Instagram posts. It’s no ordinary Christmas tree, after all.
There’s more than just a tree…
Connaught Village’s festive celebrations on the night saw guests trying their hand at snow globe making and pine cone decorating. Santa Paws also made a visit to the Connaught Village Christmas festivities, giving guests a chance to meet and pose for a photo with husky dogs. And dog lovers were treated to a ‘Pawtrait‘ artist who drew illustrations of visitors with their dog(s).
Adding to the festive cheer, the whole area has been festooned with lights and Christmas cheer. Love, joy, and festivity is truly in the air at Connaught Village.
Last year’s ‘Love Actually’ themed light display was a huge hit, absolutely taking over Instagram feeds. Make sure you’re leading the charge with your own posts of this year’s installation. And while you’re in the area, make sure you don’t miss the Connaught Hotel’s gorgeous Christmas tree too. Two (very different) Christmas trees for the price of one! Well, there’s no price – just the cost of getting there…
